Televisions

One of the best inventions in the world of digital media, television is a telecommunicating system that transmits images, accompanied with sounds and special effects, over a long distance. The word television is derived from two words ? tele (which means "far" in Greek) and visio (which means "vision" or "sight" in Latin).

Paul Gottlieb Nipkow, a German student, proposed the first electromechanical television system in 1885. The discovery of cathode ray tubes in 1897, by K. F. Braun was a major landmark.

Later in 1927, Philo Taylor Farnsworth envisioned the first fully electronic system. He conducted the world's premier public demonstration of an all-electronic television system on August 25, 1934, at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia.

Besides Farnsworth, Vladimir Kosma Zworykin is also sometimes called the Father of the television because of his invention of iconoscope in 1923 and kinescope in 1929. On July 3, 1928, John Logie Baird demonstrated the world's first color transmission, which was a turning point in the history of televisions. Meanwhile, the Americans began their first full scheduled television service.

The first color television system approved by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) employed a motor-driven disk in three primary colors, developed by the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS). In 1950, the FCC declared it as the standard one for the U.S.

At the same time, Radio Corporation of America (RCA) developed a similar compatible system, which later became more popular than the CBS system.

Standard definition TV (SDTV) and high definition TV (HDTV) are the two categories of display formats for digital television (DTV) transmissions, which are known for their higher-quality viewing experience.

Why Rent a Computer?

If you are out of town you might need to rent a car, a hotel room and a computer. When your car or computer?breaks down, you need a temporary rental replacement or?perhaps you just want to impress someone... you can rent a fast new car or a computer that would impress your client or your date. People confuse computer renting with leasing. Renting is short term in nature and is very flexible.

You can extend the rental or cancel at any time. Leasing, like buying, can't be cancelled without a 'severe penalty' once you have committed. Leasing is a fixed arrangement. Renting to totally flexible.Use the same analogy for renting cars as for renting computers. You wouldn't rent a car from Hertz? or Avis? for three years, would you? What are digital picture frames and how do they work?

A relatively new product in the digital imaging industry is what has become known as the digital picture frame. These clever devices use a flat-panel TFT (usually just referred to as LCD) screen to electronically store and display digital photos, which can be transferred directly between the picture frame and your digital camera. They can be powered by either batteries or an AC adapter power supply that plugs into your mains wall socket, and are capable of storing between thirty and more than a thousand digital photos, depending on the frame, the size of the files, and the capacity of the memory card being used. While most people are probably aware of the numerous advantages of digital photography, there have always been a few areas where modern digital imagery simply didn't offer what people wanted out of their photos. With only a slightly wider profile than a normal picture frame, a digital picture frame retains all the benefits of digital photography, combining them with the convenience...
